Welcome

You must be registered and logged in to view the entire site. (The Resource Teachers' contact information is not visible unless you're logged in.)

Overview

Regular classroom teachers or community educators interested in incorporating or enhancing the environmental education into their units, can invite a guest “Resource Teacher” to come in and teach. The Resource Teachers are paid by the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) and are trained in K-12 natural resource education curricula spanning various subject areas – especially (but not limited to) science, social studies and language arts. The regular classroom teacher may choose to be present or absent when the Resource Teacher comes in.  If the classroom teacher will be absent, a school district substitute teacher may need to be hired by the school district if the Resource Teacher is not licensed by the Minnesota Department of Education.

How does this program work?

Step 1

Make sure your school or organization is within the RCWD boundaries.  To find out, click here to use the interactive mapping tool.

Step 2

Make sure your school or organization has signed the waiver and your organization is listed below. New schools or organizations can the view waiver/agreement click here and send in to RCWD.

Step 3

Register as a user. It may take a day or two to have your registration confirmed since a live employee will need to verify that you're located within the RCWD boundaries.

Step 4

Log in and reserve your Resource Teacher. This also may take a day or two because the Resource Teachers need to check their emails. If you would like to try to speed up the confirmation, feel free to find their phone number (listed on their profiles) and call them.

Step 5

A survey will be automatically emailed to you after the lesson date has passed. Please give us your feedback!
